Surface Treatment--Anodizing

Leave a message

It can make the product surface form a uniform, dense oxide layer, (a1203.6h20) this film can make the product surface hardness up to (200-300hv). If the special products can be hard anodized, the surface hardness of the products can reach 400-1200hv. Therefore, hard anodizing is an indispensable surface treatment process.

In addition, the wear resistance of this product is very good, so it could be a necessary process of aerospace related products.

Common processes

common anodizing processes are color anodized, satin anodized, and blasting etc.

Negative situation and Treating Method

  • Spots appear on the surface. This situation is generally due to poor metal conditioning or poor material.

Treating Method: Re-heat treatment. Or change the material.

  • Surface appears rainbow color. Such situations are usually the result of anodize errors. , loose when hanging, resulting in poor conductive to the product.

    Treating Method: Anodize again.

  • Severe surface bruises and scratches. This situation is generally due to the transport or processing process.

  • Treating Method: Anodizing again.

  • White spots appear on the surface during dyeing. This anomaly is caused by the oil or other impurities in the water during anodizing.

Quality standards

  • The film thickness is 5-25um, the hardness is above 200HV, and the color change rate of the hole sealing experiment is less than 5%

  • The salt spray experiment lasted for more than 36 hours and reached CNS level 9 or above

  • Appearance should not be appear bruises, scratches, rainbow color and other situation.

  • Die-cast aluminum, such as A380, A365 and A382, cannot be anodized.
